Healthy Teeth for Life
Everyone wants to make sure they do what is right to maintain healthy teeth. Although sometimes it is necessary to visit a cosmetic dentist to correct aesthetic problems with your teeth, most of the time you just need to brush and floss your teeth daily and maintain regular visits to the dentist every six months.
If you are nervous about visiting the dentist, don't be; this guide will explain what to expect when you have a regular check up at the dentist's office. If you have any further questions, you can contact our Indianapolis family dentistry office for additional information.

The Dental Examination
During your visit, Dr. Deldar will complete the following:
- Pre-Clinical Welcome Meeting — You will be greeted by Dr. Deldar. This allows the guest and Dr. Deldar to get to know each other and discuss any concern you may have before any treatment.
- Examination of the head, neck, and mouth — Dr. Deldar will check your face and neck to make sure there are no abnormalities such as oral cancer, overly dry lips or odd swollen areas. He will also check the lymph nodes in your neck for any unusual swelling. Next, Dr. Deldar will check your teeth, gums, and mouth for any sign of disease or cavities. If there are any issues, he will discuss all the treatment options available to you.
- Teeth Cleaning — Dr. Deldar will remove tartar and plaque build-up near the gum line using special instruments. This will help prevent many dental issues such as cavities and gum disease.
- X-rays — Although X-rays are not taken at every visit, at least once a year, Dr. Deldar will want to take X-rays of your teeth and jaw to see if there are any issues or concerns. We utilize the digital X-rays for safety to you and the environment.
